Mo's Dog Training Reviews

John B & Bailey

Positive: professionalism, responsiveness, value

Travis Foster with John B and his dog Bailey having one to one training at Vislor Dog Training Center - West Midlands

I have been with Vislor since Bailey was 3 months old (he is now 12 months). Trav is a very professional amazing trainer with the knowledge to match, there’s nothing he don’t know! When we first took Bailey we couldn’t even get him to walk properly on a lead, first lesson and Bailey was walking wonderfully on the lead. He really is helping me achieve my goals with Bailey, working initially on his obedience, and continues to do so.

Having just completed the reactive course Mo, we couldn’t be happier with Baileys progress. Mo is truly a fantastic trainer who has so much passion for what he does, and it really shows.

Despite being part of a group, Mo gives everyone 121 time, and although some of us were at different levels with our training, Mo was able to tailor the training to meet each of our needs. He really goes above and beyond for you!

Would highly recommend the course, it was a lot of fun and hard work, but it’s worth it! Just make sure you do your homework!!

I would recommend Vislor to anyone with a dog who needs help, you honestly can’t get better than these guys!

Dave Noonan & Bear (6 month GSD)

Positive: professionalism, quality, responsiveness, value, reliability

Dave Noonan and his GSD Bear one to on training vislor

Quite simply the best team of dog trainers out there…. Having spent a lot of time (& money!!) on a few other “dog behaviour experts”— with little result— me and my 6 month old GSD, Bear, started seeing Trav due to Bear’s serious reactivity issues…. Trav is honestly just AMAZING— not only himself a hugely successful/experienced competitor in Dog Sport, but also brimmed full with insights into the world of dog training, canine behaviour and the role of the handler/owner in all of this….!! A genuinely passionate trainer, with an ethos of “fix the problem, not just the behaviour”…. Coming from a background of working in medicine, this approach made so much logical “sense” to me— concepts such as “the following state” soon became central to my own way of thinking about Bear’s reactivity problems…. As a result, I can honestly say that I no longer even think about his reactivity during walks: he either just doesn’t react at all; or I can quickly/effectively manage his reactions on the rare occasions that he does….

I also must mention Mo— who runs the Group Reactivity classes…. This chap literally exudes a deep passion/understanding for dog-training, and it’s contagious…!! Despite the class being in a “group” setting, Mo treats every dog/handler in a different way, tailored to your needs… He also goes WAY above his own commitments, positively asking folk to randomly text/call him “whatever time”, and always gets back: even in the middle of the night….!!

Finally, Lorraine: the one who keeps everything organised, is the “glue” at Vislor…. Not only super-organised, but also always available at the end of the phone to answer any queries you may have….!!

In summary— please don’t waste your time/money anywhere else: the Vislor team is one-of-a-kind, and I’d challenge anyone to find better dog trainers in the U.K…. Cheers Vislor….!!

Brad Morris & Cooper (GSD)

Positive: professionalism, quality, responsiveness, value, reliability

Brad Morris & Mo Vislor trainer

After months of wasted time with other trainers we finally found Vislor- thankfully! Our German shepherd dog had overtime become highly reactive, extremely vocal and difficult. We decided, with a heavy heart we would be best to send him for the residential training. We met with Mo and had a good conversation about the training he would receive, we left with a clear understanding about the training and our minds were put at ease knowing that he would be well looked after By Mo! Our dog went to Mo for full residential training for three weeks. Mo kept us updated regularly with messages, calls and videos. At week 2 we observed our dog in training and participated in some training with Mo and our dog. Week 3 was handover, upon handover we had a good debrief from Mo and again did some further training.

From the regular updates we were able to see, even as soon as day 2/3 the improvements that were being achieved from the training, by week 3 the contrast in behaviour had improved even further. Mo has been incredible, he has provided us with continued support with the training since completing the residential. Mos continued help, clear directions and easy to understand explanations have provided us with great foundations to continue with our dogs training. We are now able to take him out for walks with a much greater confidence and whilst we still have a long way to go we are making progress which is a miracle in itself.

We wasted valuable time with other training companies and not one of them had the knowledge and understanding that Mo and Vislor have. As I am sure you can gather, we highly highly recommend Vislor for training. Mo - you are amazing and we cannot thank you enough for the training, support, confidence and encouragement you give us!!

We are looking at continuing 1-1 sessions regularly and have already booked a further residential stay for further training with Mo.

Fran Henderson & Stella

Positive: professionalism, quality, responsiveness, value, reliability

Fran Henderson and her puppy Stella

Where do I start? My puppy was reactive, to the point I would dread taking her out.... From the first session I felt so much more confident, and she changed straight away, from the advice off Trav, I go every couple of weeks, and the difference in my girl is just WOW!! She is learning so much, as am I!! And we are loving every second of it.

Uncle Mo.... We joined the reactive group, and we are absolutely loving it!! It's fun, you learn so much, and no matter day or night uncle mo is there if you need anything!! My girl is thriving ... Our bond is unbelievable.

Thank god I found vislor!! Because Mo & Trav are truly incredible at what they do.... So if you're struggling, they are the guys you need!! Absolute life savers!! Put the hard work in and you and your dog could be as happy as me and my girl. You won't regret it!! Dream team 👌

Matthew Gough & Hunter (GSD)

Positive: professionalism, quality, responsiveness, value, reliability

Matthew Gough and his GSD Hunter.

Mo is the quintessential dog whisperer you NEED to work with if your dog is in need of some professional, effective dog training.

We approached Mo as Vislor after our two year old GSD’s excitement levels began to make every day activities more and more difficult.

After much research, we opted for the three week residential stay and were confident we had made the right choice as soon as we met. One week later it is clear to me that it was perhaps one of the best investments I have ever made in my life.

Hunter is now home and is a changed dog for the better. Walking is an absolute dream and is 100% stress free and incredibly enjoyable for the first time since he was a pup. We actually wake up excited to take him out to see the new behaviours in action!

I understood that this three week period wasn’t a magic pill, nor would it inherently change my dogs natural instincts. Mo helped us understand that dogs will be dogs and that the aim should be to control and manage certain behaviours with simple, effective and humane methods.

By the end of the stay you can expect fundamental improvements of course, but the real magic is the resources, tools and training methods taught during the handover for you to be able to effectively continue the training yourself with a dog primed and ready to learn and please. This is as much a learning experience for you as much as it is for your dog.

Mo sends regular video updates which we really appreciated, and has made himself available on the phone or via text at any point if we have any questions or concerns.

If your car breaks, you call a mechanic. If your dog needs training, you call Mo at Vislor. Professionals are there for a reason, and it is to provide knowledge and expertise of tried and tested methods they know can work. If you are considering this route as a potential option for you and your dog, rest assured this service is second to none.

Kyle Gayne & Eddie (Labrador cross from Cyprus)

Positive: professionalism, quality, value, reliability

Kyle Gayne & Eddie his black labrador

After just two sessions with Mo, it's like our entire life has changed for the better. Our dog was incredibly reactive and nervous, to the point we struggled to get him to leave the house to even use the garden, let alone walk him. He would pull so hard that he would leave our hands nearly bleeding.

Mo recognised the issues straight away and implemented the right techniques to help us. Two sessions later and we are walking him calmly and with no pulling at all. Mo couldn't do enough for us and was always happy to stay in contact with us between sessions.

I would absolutely recommend Vislor and Mo to anybody at all out there - they have literally improved all of our lives!

Meloney Hughes & Xena (Dutch Herder)

Positive: professionalism, quality, responsiveness

Melony Hughes & her Dutch Herder Xena
Mo is fantastic, we’ve only had one session so far and we’ve already noticed a difference with our dog who was almost impossible to walk! We are doing the homework set and look forward to our next session.

Mal & Bear (GSD)

Positive: professionalism, quality, responsiveness, value, reliability

Mal & Bear the German Shepherd Dog.

I have a GSD, at 6 months hold he had a slow start with being out in the world with lack of training due to the covid situation and first lockdown. Our GSD was what we would simply describe as a nightmare at 6mths. The biggest concern was he would not listen. He was reactive. He was biting, full of negative energy. We reached a point where we needed help. On recommendation we spoke with Lorraine and with our desperation we visited Travis and his team straight away. We opted for the boot camp. This needed to be our saviour.

Our GSD Bear spent a weeks with Mo and during this time we was given regular updates. Bear has never bitten since. He is a changed dog. We still need to do some ground work with recall and reactive behaviour but thats our responsibility. More than anything however we now have control. He listens at home. He has never bitten since. We can now enjoy our dog. He has a lovely nature, everyone loves him. Don't give up if you are struggling, go and invest in these guys!

Thank you Lorraine, Travis and most of all Mo!

Maria.

Ester & Bart (Malinois Puppy)

Positive: professionalism, quality, responsiveness, value, reliability

Mo & Bart (Malinois Puppy) at Vislor Dog Training Center

I took my Malinois puppy, Bart, over to see Mo as he was becoming aggressive when meeting new people. Mo quickly recommended the residential training course to me and despite warning me that it was expensive it is without a doubt the best investment I have ever made! Bart has learnt so much in just 3 weeks and so have I, I now feel confident to continue training with Bart and take him out and about as I’ve always wanted.

Mo is a fantastic dog trainer and a lovely guy, I can’t recommend him enough!

Martine Evans & Lister (Black Lab Mix) & Ronson (Bully)

Positive: professionalism, quality, responsiveness, value, reliability

Lister and Ronson

My two dogs Lister (black lab mix) and Ronson (5 moth old puppy bully) where having issues getting along inside the home, Ronson had a lot of other problems including leash pulling, biting and just a general lack of manners. My other dog Lister was reactive and had always been slow to respond to commands. We had a session with Travis and a session with Mo. Honestly, I am amazed with the change in my dogs, Trav and Mo are brilliant and Mo even managed to get my mum to see why babying her Bully pup was bad which is a miracle in itself. The pup was walking a brilliant heel in minutes. Trav had a dog inches from my reactive boy on day one.

Can't praise these guys enough, they're amazing trainers, very welcoming and friendly, Mo makes a lovely coffee too.

Amar Dhadli & Akela (GSD)

Positive: professionalism, quality, responsiveness, value, reliability

Amar's German Shepherd Dog Akela

Our 4-year-old GSD, Akela, is a wonderful dog, great temperament around people and other dogs… until she is on the lead! Very reactive, pulling and barking at anyone & anything – not aggressively, but for attention. Nonetheless, people just see a German Shepard barking at them and get put off, which really stresses us out walking with her. We tried all kinds of things to stop this and nothing seemed to work. Other trainers were quoting a series of 8 to 10 sessions without even seeing her. Visor was recommended by a fellow dog owner who had very positive results

We had one session with Mo and the change in Akela was remarkable. He explained exactly what WE were doing wrong – the behaviour was not the dog’s fault; we were not just handling her properly. By the end of that single session, Akela was walking by our side calmly ignoring the other people and dogs.

Although it is still early days, we have walked Akela to & from the park already with no pulling or barking – she is like a new dog!

So grateful to Mo & Vislor for helping us… and also not taking advantage. Single lesson, money on the day and gone home with the proper advice we needed.

I would 100% recommend.

Rikki Theodosi & Leila (6 month Samoyed)

Rikki with his 6 month old Samoyed Dog
Had a 1to1 with Mo with our 6month old Samoyed. After 1 lesson she already had become a calmer dog at home and started to listen to me. Fully recommend Mo! Really happy with the progress after day 1. Can't wait to see what's next!

Elvis Jack Russell one-to-one training
Fantastic 1st session with Mo. Mo was very understanding and we can already see a huge difference after just 1 session. Mo offered explanations for behaviours and showed us how to correct them. Would 100% recommend.

Scott Parks & Diego (Doberman)

Positive: quality

Scott Parks & Diego (Doberman) - 3 weeks obedience training
Mo at Vislor dog training had my doberman Diego for a 3 obedience week corse, I am over the moon with the progress he is now walking really well and listening to commands. The whole team at Vislor are professional and enjoy what they do. I carnt wait to see the results when he completes his full corse soon!

Blanka Blage & Dolly

Positive: professionalism

Blanca Blage and her dog Dolly - one to one dog training.

Mo is a professional trainer and in the first 30 minutes he taught me how to apply essential rules in dog training. Dolly was very receptive and from the first day she changed her attitude, from a very nasty dog to a quiet one in first day. I know it's just the beginning, but it looks very promising! Thank you!

Phillipa Garbett & Kane (7 month Rottweiler)

Positive: professionalism, quality, responsiveness, value, reliability

KAne 7 month old Rottweiler
I contacted Vislor for help with my 7 month old Rottweiler puppy, Kane. Although only young, his size and strength was making life extremely difficult for the family. We had a 1:1 training session with Mo whose clear and knowledgeable explanations of the approaches I needed to use were great. He taught me techniques, and gave me the confidence to implement them. Even after just our first session the changes are unbelievable. It is actually enjoyable to take Kane out for walks now, without him pulling and trying to jump up on other dogs. He is calmer and less destructive in the house, and we now have a much better relationship. Kane also seems happier now that he is fitting into the family more successfully. Thank you so much Mo.

Rachel Wickens & Ruben (18 month GSD)

Rachel and Ruben GSD 1-1 dog training

Took my 18month GSD for a 1:1 session with Mo. Cannot fault his work/ help. Very detailed explanations of techniques and clearly very experienced. For the first time I felt confident and in control of my dog. Within the first lap of the training field I could already see the difference. I now feel confident and capable enough to practice the techniques given at home too. I would 100% would recommend Mo/ Vislor.

A massive thankyou, from Rachel & Ruben.

Clare Grice & Polly

Positive: professionalism, punctuality, responsiveness, value, reliability

Polly rescue dog 3 week residential dog training
Polly, our rescue dog from Greece, is just back from a 3 week training residential with Mo. We think Polly is around 2 years old; she clearly had never been walked on a lead before, and probably never wore a collar. So going on walks with her was hard work as she pulled so much (my shoulder was agony!) and would lurch at anything moving! But Mo has worked his magic, and my walk with Polly this evening was brilliant as she walked by my side for 5 miles with no pulling whatsoever! My arms loved that! I can’t believe what Mo has achieved in such a short space of time. He is fantastic, and I have so much respect for him. Polly clearly loves him! I am really looking forward to Polly continuing her training with Mo. Thanks Mo and Vislor Dog Training!

Helen & Buddy (GSD)

Helen with her German Shepherd dog Buddy

After trying a number of other trainers we decided to get in touch with Vislor after reading all the positive reviews. Our 18 month old male GSD was very boisterous, noisey when excited & could not walk on a lead without pulling. We met up with Travis & Mo & decided the 3 week residential would be beneficial. We were very apprehensive about sending him away but are so glad that we did! Mo kept us informed of his progress with videos, pictures & messages throughout.

The handover with Mo was very informative, teaching us how to handle & walk him, which i haven't been able to do since he was a puppy. It was clear he had formed a bond with Mo which was so nice to see. It is still work in progress but the difference so far is amazing. He is booked in for October with Mo for top up & recall sessions which i'm sure he's looking forward to.

Thank you Mo for all of your hard work & also to Lorraine for your speedy responses to our questions.
